People often question the difference between a conservatory and an orangery, and the response is simple – glass. Conservatories traditionally feature more glass than orangeries, but there is a hefty volume of glazing in this orangery, and most of it is present in the significantly large glazed covering. The patio doors and windows also account for a high proportion of the glass in the orangery, and they equally help to brighten the interior so that everything from reading and gaming to playing with toys can go on.
Patio doors were placed in the design to enable the kids to run out into the garden as and when they get the urge to. They have gorgeous side panels and offer a cute little opening towards the swingball set up outdoors, with everyone in the family very quickly getting into the swing of using them. Admiring the orangery on the outside is when you really start to appreciate just how much detail has gone into everything, and the view from the outside is no less impressive. It seems unfathomable how we have managed to get that roof up there, but we have, and boy, does it look the business.
