Although the GRP skin that envelopes the composite door creates a compelling wood grain appearance, a composite door is far firmer, more durable and watertight than a traditional timber door.

How does a composite door differ from a UPVC door?

Composite doors tend to cost more than UPVC doors because of their more complex construction process with multiple materials.
Although UPVC doors are less costly than composite doors, it does not mean that they are an inferior product as they also have excellent security features and thermal efficiency.
What is the best way to maintain a composite or UPVC door?
It is important to avoid using abrasive materials and solvent based cleaners to clean your door – simply fill a bucket with warm soapy water and wipe down the doors once every four months or as needed.
An annual check of the hardware including the hinges, locks, handles, and door furniture for lubrication will keep your door operating at its full potential.
The draining holes and threshold should regularly be checked for debris and cleaned if necessary in order to keep the seals from taking in water. This is especially important during bouts of bad weather.
