REPLACEMENT ULTRAROOF ORANGERY
Just when all hope had been lost in this old orangery, the installation of the UltraRoof saved it from the scrapheap and gave it a whole new life.
After largely sitting empty for the past few years and literally becoming a waste of space, this orangery has been restored back to how it used to be. All it needed was a replacement roofing system, and the UltraRoof was the logical choice. Custom-built for the orangery, it has incredible thermal qualities and prevents the extension overheating or feeling ridiculously cold in summer and winter. We told the owners they would not be able to get enough of the orangery once we’d exchanged roofs, and they trusted our judgement, designating it as a combined lounge, kitchen and dining are.
To give the orangery a traditional effect and help it naturally merge into the building, the owners opted for a Golden Oak finish, and it was carefully applied to each of the windows and doors. Instructions also included the fitting of French doors to the newly reborn setting. Putting French doors inside made complete sense as it’s inevitable that the occupants will want to make as much use of their outdoor space as their rejuvenated indoor space. It’s safe to say that they were happy with what Trent Valley Windows has done to the orangery, with the champagne cracked open soon after we had finished the job.
